Uttarakhand is best state for investment: Chief Minister Trivendra

Dehradun: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Uttarakhand is connected directed with the national capital with railways, road and air network. Thus we are very close to Delhi. Mythology also connects us here. Along with Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Mussoorie and Nainital, Char Dham Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath, Badrinath, Hemkund Sahib, Nanakmatta and Piran Kaliyar are directly connected to the national capital. In addition to the better industrial environment in Uttarakhand and human resources, the peaceful and cooperative attitude of the people of the state makes Uttarakhand different from other states. Construction of Char Dham Road Project and Rishikesh-Karnprayag rail link in the state are in progress. This initiative will be helpful in providing better resources and support to the state.

Chief Minister told the entrepreneurs present in the programme that we have come to seek suggestions from all of you. Connectivity in the state is growing rapidly. Soon, the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will be covered in just 3.30 hours. There will be a big change in the area of connectivity in the next 4-5 years. The state is making the cheapest electricity available to industries. Six states have signed the MoU in Lakhwar-Byasi multi-purpose project. This will also give Delhi much relief as far as availability of drinking water is concerned. Uttarakhand will also get 300 MW of power. State government has taken several steps to transform Devbhoomi Uttarakhand into tourism as well as an industrially developed economy.

In the presence of Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat, a road show was organized by Uttarakhand Government under “Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit” in New Delhi on Thursday. The first Investors Summit of Uttarakhand will be held in Dehradun on 07 and 08 October 2018. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Summit. During road show, the Chief Minister apprised the entrepreneurs about the possibility of investment in Uttarakhand and the steps taken by the state government for industrial development. He said that the state has a unique blend of infrastructure, availability of natural resources and entrepreneurial youth thinking. Creating sustainable employment opportunities from the manufacturing and services has been the priority of the state government. So that enough opportunities for employment to our youth can be created.

Uttarakhand is moving rapidly towards development. Uttarakhand is one of the fastest growing economies in the country. Under the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ initiative in the state, in order to simplify the application processes, single window system in the state has been started and for all licenses and approvals required for setting up and operations of the business, ‘One Stop Shop’ system has been introduced.

Chief Minister said that the resolution of the complaints and issues of industries has been the top priority of the government. For this, “Investment Promotion and Facility Center” has been set up in Dehradun. State Government has ensured strong policy framework to streamline its economy in various sectors through the Mega Industrial and Investment Promotion Policy, Film Policy, MSME Policy, Information Communication Technology and Electronic Policy and Start Up. The state government is laying special focus on tourism, Ayush, wellness, film shooting, organic products and food processing.

Chief Minister said that before the summit in Dehradun, we organized mini conclaves in the state to understand the sentiments of investors and organized road shows in various states to encourage investment. Industry and business will play an important role in taking the state towards high economic growth. It is our firm belief that with strong relations with the private sector and establishing partnership, we can move forward in the direction of economic progress and employment opportunities in the state.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Prakash Pant said that despite having 70 per cent forest cover in the state, there is a better option for entrepreneurship. The industrial package received by the state in 2003 has been an important beginning in the industrial sector. MSME has grown from 1100 projects to 49000. There is a stable political environment in Uttarakhand, better law and order situation and better infrastructure facilities. Inviting for the Investors Summit, he said that all of them should come to Uttarakhand as a tourist and pilgrim.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Madan Kaushik said that Uttarakhand is the most favourable state for the industries. Here social security level is very good as compared to other states. The state government is making efforts to provide all possible assistance for industrial houses to invest in Uttarakhand. We are trying to give an investment-friendly environment.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Satpal Maharaj said that while describing the features of local products, there is lot of potential in Uttarakhand. He said that we want to develop the state as a ‘Winter Destination’. The government wants to develop such infrastructure here that people from foreign countries should also visit Uttarakhand during the winter season.

Cabinet Minister Mr. Harak Singh Rawat said that almost all the people have association with Uttarakhand. Have been inspiring for the tourism, religious tourism, adventure tourism and wildlife. Late Atal Ji has given industrial package. As compared to other states, entrepreneurs have got better human resources and peaceful and industrial environment in Uttarakhand.
