Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off an expedition for Gaumukh trekking

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat flagged off an expedition led by MACK organization for Gaumukh trekking from his official residence here on Friday. The 30 member team will trek and camp to Gaumukh and Gangotri from June 9 to 12, 2018. The main objective of the expedition team is to make awareness on Ganga cleanliness and tree plantation. Tree plantation will done at Gaumukh and Ganga cleanliness campaign will be carried out.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that there is need to carry out an awareness campaign on large scale regarding Gangas’ cleanliness and purity. He said that for rejuvenation of rivers and preservation of environment, there is need to plant as many trees as possible. He said more than 3.5 lakh saplings will be planted in a single day during Rispana and Kosi rejuvenation campaign. He further said that we have to focus on water conservation for future generations.
