Under National Rurban Mission, Dhanaulti in Tehri, tribal areas of Udham Singh Nagar & Kausani in Bageshwar selected

Dehradun: Under the National Rurban Mission, Dhanaulti in Tehri district, tribal areas of Udham Singh Nagar and Kausani in Bageshwar have been selected. Presiding over a meeting organized in this regard, Chief Secretary, Utpal Kumar Singh instructed to develop the cluster as a model. He said that with the participation of the villagers, the cluster of the village should be developed in such a way that tourists from abroad will be attracted there. Tourists should get a traditional glimpse of the village and they should get to know their food, dressing, living and culture. Home Stay should be promoted.

In the meeting of National Rurban (Rural Urban) Mission held at Secretariat, it was finalised to provide urban facilities to the cluster of ten villages of Dhanaulti. It was told that all the villages will be developed on the basis of the theme. Simultaneously, instructions have also been given for the development of agri tourism in traditional Tharu village and Kausani in Udham Singh Nagar.

Instructions were also issued for inclusion of Kausani’s tea plantation and deprived ashram set up by Mahatma Gandhi in the cluster. It was informed that survey of ten gram panchayats of Dhanualti was conducted. The cluster has been finalized in consultation with villagers. The theme was set according to their tradition and business. It was also decided that Danda valley will be developed as music and instrument, Kalvan Tengana village as agro tourism, Dhanualti as adventure, Nagruchi as jewelry and art, Dunda as Himalayan Bird, Goth as herbs and spices, Khaneri as vegetables and local fruits, Fidogi as agriculture, Bidkot as local dance and villages of Dwali Phool and Uniyal as freedom fighter village.
