CM Trivendra Singh Rawat visits under-construction nursery at Hargarh, meets people and farmers

Gairsain: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat on Thursday carried out survey of nursery being constructed at Hargarh (Gairsain) village. He also talked to local people and farmers.

Hargarh village to be developed as centre of excellence

The Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat announced to develop Hargarh nursery (Gairsain) as a Center of Excellence. He said that this Center will be developed by forming a farm on 500 ‘Nalis’ of land at a cost of  Rs. 10 to Rs.12 crore. He said that many species of fruit trees and medicinal flowers will be developed in this centre. He further said that by growing herbal plants, they can be used to make herbal incense sticks and a good income can be earned by selling them. He said that a solar powered system would be installed to provide water supply to the nursery. The Chief Minister instructed the concerned officers to plant the best species in this Center. He directed officials to encourage local people to plant fruit trees and medicinal plants in the area. Saplings were also planted on the occasion. Chief Minister Mr.Trivendra Singh Rawat also inaugurated a high-density apple and walnut-production demonstration section in Hargarh.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat talked to locals in Garhwali

The Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat communicated with women and farmers of Hargarh in Garhwali language. He encouraged farmers to cultivate crops in a scientific manner. The Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that farmers can earn good income by cultivating naturally scented flowers. He instructed the officials to give timely information to farmers on modern farming practices, and to encourage women groups to cultivate and do gardening.

            Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that it will be easy for farmers if they do cultivation on cluster basis. He said that there are immense possibilities of agriculture and horticulture in our hilly areas, and we must utilize our full energies to benefit from them.

Present on the occasion were MLA Surendra Singh Negi, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh, Bharsaar World University Chancellor Prof. C.M. Sharma, Chamoli District Magistrate Tripti Bhatt, Additional Secretary Dr. Meherban Singh Bisht and others.
