CM Rawat participate in Central Regional Council meeting at Lucknow

Dehradun:  Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat participated in the 21st meeting of the Central Regional Council chaired by Union Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh held at Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Dr. Dinesh Sharma and Keshav Prasad Maurya and senior ministers of Chattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh participated in the meeting.

 In the meeting of the Central Regional Council, a total of 22 issues were discussed and 17 issues were resolved and directions have been issued on three issues. Two issues will be resolved in the next meeting. The issues which were primarily discussed in the meeting today included roads, Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna, ways and means to tackle naxalite terrorism, modernization of police force, MANREGA, improving the basic infrastructure of airports, grains storage, minimum support price, National Health Mission, School-Police Cadet Scheme and issues related with schools.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh said that regional councils are playing an important role in increasing the cooperation between the centre and the states and resolving the issues concerning the common people. Addressing the 21st meeting of the regional council at Lucknow, Union Home Minister said that in the past four years regional councils have been activated. He said that the meeting conveys the feeling of cooperative federalism.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat in the central regional council meeting called for early completion of widening work of Muzzafarnagar-Haridwar and Haridwar-Dehradun national highways. He also demanded that an air service from Hindon airbase to Pithoragarh should be started. He also called for starting a regular commercial flight between Dehradun-Pantnagar. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat explaining about Bhagirathi Eco-Sensitive Zone said that there is a need for changes in the notification. He also demanded money for modernization of Uttarakhand police force and housing facilities for police force. He also said that for compensatory afforestation , the state government and its corporation should be given permission for degraded forest as given to organizations of Government of India. R. Buhril, secretary of the Inter-State council conducted the proceedings of the meeting.  Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh and senior officials of central government and participating states were present in the meeting.

Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat had a courtesy meeting with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adtyanath at his residence and informed him, about the notice given by Uttar Pradesh forest department to the family members of Veer Chander Singh Garhwali.

On the request of Mr. Rawat, Yogi Adityanath assured to give relief to the family member of Veer Chander Singh Garhwali by taking appropriate action. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath informed Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat that budgetary provision in Uttar Pradesh budget has been made for the remaining pension of employees allocated to Uttarkhand.
