CM Rawat meet group of tourists from Maharashtra

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat met a 30 member group of tourists from Pune (Maharashtra) on a visit to Uttarakhand at his residence. The group appreciating the natural beauty of Uttarakhand and also praised the Chief Minister for giving them an audience. The members of the group told the Chief Minister that some of the members of the group had visited Kedarnath, fifteen days before the June 2013 disaster and wanted to visit Kedarnath again to see the reconstruction works.

Chief Minister told them that weather is a problem in the hilly areas. He said that natural disaster struck unannounced and even during Kedarnath tragedy, if there could have been better weather, many lives would have been saved. He further said that the state has been trying to come out of the tragedy and wounds of disaster are healing.

Chief Minister said that all necessary arrangements have been made at all four dhams. He said that 35 thousand pilgrims were present at the time of opening of portals of Kedarnath ji which was a record. He said that Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has deep faith in Kedarnath shrine and it is being developed as a smart city. A 70 feet wide approach pathway to the temple is being constructed. The temple premises has been widened by five times.  The shrine of Adi Shankaracharya is also being renovated. The construction of all –weather road for pilgrims visiting ‘Char Dhams’ coming from India and abroad is being constructed. The rail services are also being provided in the hilly areas. Heli services to Kedarnath from Dehradun and Haridwar have been started apart from Rudraprayag.

 Those who met the Chief Minister included Shrirang Kulkarni, Rajinder Kulkarni, Vinayak Shigay, Manohar Tare, Sneha Gokhale, Dr.Parnjali, Apoorva Rajopadhaya, Vrinda Pathak and others.
