CM Rawat initiates “Dev Bhoomi Dialogue”

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat before the conclusion of the “Dev BhoomI Dialogue” interacted with the youth who have become torch bearers for the society in taking initiative for self-employment with their dedication, potential and hard work. The Chief Minister listened to their experiences and suggestions and rewarded them with mementoes and commendation certificates.

The youth have to come forward from employment to self-employment

Chief Minister Mr Trivendra Singh Rawat said that migration from hills is a serious problem. He said that the state government has already taken initiative to check the trend but people from different fields should also come forward to help. He said that it was through self-employment that migration could be stopped. He said that there is limited scope of government jobs and we have to look for greater avenues of self-employment. The youth have to come forward with their skills as self-employment is the voice of the present times.

Farmers will get better prices of their Produce: CM

The Chief Minister said that to ensure that farmers get better prices of their products, instead of middlemen, the state government has made arrangements for direct marketing of their produce. This would ensure that they get better prices. He said that there is possibility of having honey combs in each house in every village and the honey produced and processed could be sold at Rs.400 per kg bringing ten times more profits for farmers.  He said that there is great demand of wax and pollen from honey combs in the country and abroad. The organic honey has ten times more medicinal value. He called upon the youth to get information about various projects and schemes from news and newspapers so that they abreast of progress and developments taking place in various fields regularly. He said that army has been developing a nursery to produce walnuts in the hilly areas.

Health services are being improved in remote hilly areas: CM

 Chief Minister said that Ghes and Himani villages of Chamoli district have been linked with AIIMS, New Delhi through tele-medicine. He said that it was found that young women of 22 year old in Ballad village of Chamoli district were suffering from the problem of teeth loss. It was found out in investigations that this was happening since young women during pregnancy were not getting nutritious diet.  He said besides starting a scheme to provide nutritious diet to pregnant women, efforts are on to eradicate TB from the state. He said that with an aim to provide timely medicine to TB patients, medicines are being provided to such patients at their homes.

 He said that in the health sector 47 E-hospitals have been established as a fresh initiative while the number of such hospitals in the state has risen to 144. The initiative has been started from Pauri district. Ghes, Himni, Okalkanda and Betalghat have been linked with tele-medicine services where 48 types of investigations will be possible. The ‘Char Dham yatra’ route is also being linked with tele-medicine services and doctors are being deployed at each kilometer of the yatra. A total of 1141 doctors have ben appointed last year and fresh interviews are going on, he said.

Fresh initiative taken to improve education system

Chief Minister said that the state has a ratio of 12 students per teacher. He said that there is proposal to start international level schools one each in Kumoan and Garhwal regions. He said that modern education would be provided to brilliant students from class sixth onwards and fees would be based on the paying capacity of the parents. He further said that NCERT books are being implemented in the state so that parents can get books at reasonable rates. He said that schools are basically for education and should not become commercial centers.

 The Chief Minister said that 1000 schools with less than 10 students are being clubbed for raising the standard of education in government schools. Similarly 750 such schools which were being run from same campuses have also been clubbed.

Growth Center will become the center of economic activity: Chief Minister

The Chief Minister said that the growth centers established in the state will be made the centers of economic activity. For this, Rs.150 crore arrangements have been made. They should became the center of self-employment and grading, branding and processing of local products at these centers should be arranged. They will act as center sell point, and will be connected with schemes such as readymade garments and packed food. Today, the pulp of roasted tomato and chilli is being sent to Europe from India.

Our aim is to curb corruption: Chief Minister

The Chief Minister said that it is our aim to curb corruption. Our policy towards corruption is of zero tolerance. We will do whatever is right in the interest of the state. There is a need to fight against corruption. Everyone has to take initiative in this. He appealed to the youth to unite against corruption and this can reduce unemployment in the next ten years.

The youth and entrepreneurs who were honoured by Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat in this program, also shared their suggestions and experiences. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the suggestions of the young entrepreneurs who have made changes in society will be taken care of.
Ranjana  Rawat, who was honoured on this occasion, changed the lives of hundreds of people from organic farming with her colleagues. She started cultivating mushroom in the mountains. Today she is known as ‘Mushroom Girl’ in the mountains. Ashish Dabral of Pauri, a software engineer working a multinational company, has revived the decades-old Timli University with his hard work, and today is teaching the children there in Sanskrit along with digital education and robotic techniques. Ashish has inspired the villagers for collective farming and is working towards doubling the income of farmers by cultivating vegetables in his area. Ashish Kitimali University has started the Emergency Ambulance for the elderly in collaboration with a private organization.
Manish Joshi of Pauri, trained in adventure sports in many countries of Europe, established Himalayan Flying School in Kandara, and has been teaching paragliding tricks to the mountain youth for the last 25 years. Manish Joshi is also involved in exploring the possibilities of Mountain Cycling and Wild Safari. Priyanka Joshi of Pithoragarh is promoting works such as Poly House, Seed Distribution, Animal Husbandry, Monthly Saving Scheme, Advanced Equipment for Agriculture, Mushroom Production, Flower Farming and Poultry.

Encouraging local cash crops and production of timru and cardamom with medicinal properties. Simultaneously, with the help of villagers, she is promoting the production of turmeric, hill herbs, ginger, dairy products, kiwi and strawberries, as well as making the local market available for marketing of all these products.

In 2011, several houses were developed as a homestay in the mountainous area. Some time ago he did some new experiments and generated new crop prospects in Uttarakhand. Rekha Dhami from Pithoragarh learnt driving and she was hired by tourists. She wanted to open a driving school and to provide driving jobs to women. A farmer, Pappu from Chamoli has been earning handsome money through peas production with the help of imported seeds from New Zealand.  Kuldeep and Saneep from Tehri has made a “Burfi” made of “Maduwa”,which is gaining popularity in Dehradun and  New Delhi and Miteshwar Anand from Pauri has been selected for PCS and started planting drive. Shilpa Bahuguna has been trying to provide employment by hiring college students through event management and Sudhir Sundriyal is doing organic farming on barren land in Feel Good scheme. Ramesh Petwal from Dehradun is training youths to provide jobs and  trained and provided jobs to 10000 so far. Manoj Uniyal has donated his maximum salary for electrification and electrified seven villages through micro grid technique and working to provide electricity to 21 villages.

The work is on to do marketing of products manufactured and to set up common service centres in the villages and work is on to transform 50 villages as smart village.  Hemlata has been working for women health and empowerment and providing nutritious diets to children.  She helped 100 TB girls patients to cure from disease.

Teacher Hukum Singh Uniyal has made facility for free meal and residence for drop out school children and 136 students are enrolled in his school. Gitesh and Kheem Singh have been working  on reverse migration.  Pankaj Rana from Uttarkashi has been working for widows and Pankaj Rana was captain of   country’s blind football team and scored two goals in three international matches.

Chief Minister, Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat has inaugurated “Dev Bhoomi Dialog” to have direct contact with people of the state in the function held at CM’s residence on Friday. After welcoming youths, and social activists, CM has said that youths are the future of the country. He said  scholars, writers, poets, lyricists should write on “ What Type of Uttarakhand We Want?”. He said it is the duty of everyone to fulfil statehood activists’ mission. He said youths should opt for self employment for the overall growth of Uttarakhand.

The programme was also addressed by DGP Anil Raturi, Secretary Finance Amit Negi, Padamshri Anil Joshi and Migration Commission Chairman S.S. Negi.  The program was compered by Media CM advisor Ramesh Bhatt.
