CM Rawat for better coordination between industry and govt.

Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat took part in an industry interaction programme organized by Association of Dev Bhoomi Pharma Industries ,Uttarakhand at  hotel in Mussooroie.

 Chief Minister said that a committee will be formed for better coordination between the state government and industries. The committee will have Secretary, Health, Secretary, Power, MD, SIDCUL, two representatives of cosmetic industry, President of Uttarakhand unit of CII as its members. The officials of Bio-diversity and Pollution Control Board will also attend its meetings whenever required.

He said that there will be single window system for license in Ayurveda and Pharma and a 230 KV sub-station will be established at Selaqui to look after the power needs of the area. The Selaqui police check post will be upgraded into a police station and more women police force will be posted.  He said that a medical bank will be formed with the support of industry. He said that the validity of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) under Medicine and Cosmetics Rules will be extended from one year to three years and the validity of Market Standing Certificate (MSC) will also be extended from one year to three years.  A central ETP plant will be established for industry at Bhagwanpur. The new structure of medicine department will be put before cabinet for approval. The officials of Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing and control department in coordination with central medicine standard organization will sort out the problems related with the department. Chief Minister said that investors will be provided all kind of support so that more and more investment comes to Uttarakhand. This will help provide employment opportunities to local youth and women.

Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that to give a boost to industry, increasing the avenues of employment for local youth and to increase the government revenue it is important to hold meeting with the office bearers of the industry representatives from time to time. He hoped that with all weather road and bharat mala projects and increase in air and railway services in the next two years and better communication and transportation in the state, the industry will be attracted towards Uttarakhand. Chief Minister said that to encourage small industry in the hills with an aim to provide employment to local youth remain the priority of the state government. An investors’ meet will be held in Dehradun on October 4 and 5 in which Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi is expected to participate. Chief Minister appealed to the office bearers of the industry to give their innovative ideas for the proposed investors meet.

Uttarakhand Finance Minister Prakash Pant said that there has been steady increase in industry since the formation of the state. There are 41,000 micro, small and medium industries presently in the state. Nearly 20 per cent of medicine of the country are manufactured in the state and the government is giving special incentive under MSME.  Under GST all the 17 taxes have been clubbed together for a single tax system and GST council has taken several reformatory steps.

Eshwarya Reddy, Secretary Health Nitesh Jha, Secretary Finance Amit Negi, Secretary Power Radhika Jha, MD ,SIDCUL Saujanya,Chairman, Association  of Dev Bhoomi Pharma Industries Sandeep Jain, Uttarakhand Industrial Association President Pankaj Gupta and office bearers of different industries were present on the occasion.
