Lucknow: CSIR-CIMAP has organized National Science day celebration on 28th February, 2017. The institute remained open for visit of general public including students and farmers. On this occasion, more than 400 students hailing from different schools from Lucknow and other general people including farmers visited institute and interacted with the scientists. They were made aware about the institute’s activities and achievements in the area of medicinal and aromatic plants. In the main function held in the forenoon, Chief Guest Dr. Shiv Shanker Tripathi, Medical Officer In-charge, Governor House Govt. Ayurvedic Dispensary & Officer In-charge, Dhanvantari Vatika, Raj Bhawan, Lucknow delivered a National Science Day lecture on the topic of role of Ayurved in public health care. Dr. Tripathi said that Ayurved is the invaluable heritage of science. Dr. Tripathi also stressed upon the need of quality control in this field. He called upon the people to plant and popularize the medicinal plants so that these can be used in general health care system in the country. He also praised the efforts of CSIR-CIMAP scientists in the area of rural development.
Prof. Anil Kumar Tripathi, Director, CSIR-CIMAP welcomed the Chief Guest. Prof. Tripathi also presented the institute research and development activities significant achievements.
On this occasion, Dr. M. P. Darokar presented the vote of thanks. The programme was attended by the scientific and technical staff besides research students of CSIR-CIMAP.
