2ND DAY OF ‘RASHTRIYA SANSKRITI MAHOTSAV’ WITNESSES DANCE, MUSIC, DRAMA, ENTERTAINMENT, FOOD & SHOPPING DELIGHTS IN FULL SWING

New Delhi: ‘Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2016’, a diversified cultural carnival organized by M/o Culture in IGNCA premises, Janpath, New Delhisuccessfully stepped into its second day and witnessed dance, music, drama, entertainment, food and shopping delights in full swing. The day was exhilarating, when the 24- acre IGNCA campus came live to breath-taking tribal and classical art forms from different cities and towns across the country. In addition, a wide-ranging assortment of regional cuisines and delicacies prepared by traditional chefs brought a gastronomical delight to the audience.

Guests experienced an unparalleled shopping journey viz handicrafts, cuisines, rangoli painting, sculpture, photography, documentation and performing arts, all under one- roof. The event appealingly connected country’s youth to various facets of the country’s rich and vibrant culture alongside, gave people from different regions a chance to showcase their talent, artworks and culinary expertise at a larger-than-life podium.

The Governor of Nagaland Shri Padmanabha Acharya was the Chief Guest of today’s cultural evening. In his address he appealed youth to come forward and participate in such cultural events and activities enthusiastically to explore, learn and develop better understanding about our rich and diversified cultural heritage of India. He applauds the organizers for their efforts in organizing Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav like events and conveyed is wishes towards its successful accomplishment.

Today Cultural Evening at Main Stage was organized by North East Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur that featured performances representing states ofArunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. War Dance also known as Aao Naga was highly appreciated from audience along with other performances featuring 150 artists. Renowned singer and music director Shri Zubeen Garg, was the centre of attraction and Star Performer of the day. The audience danced on the tune of Shri. Garg. The evening was mesmerised by the voice of Tashi-Lama, a Tibetian Master chant and 2005 Grammy Nomminee for the World Music Album.

Next day cultural evening was announced and it was said that Dr. Padma Subhramanyam, will be the star perform of tomorrow evening that will be organized by South Zone Cultural Centre, Tanjavur. This Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav 2016 will continue till 24th Oct, 2016.
