Uncategorized

At least four CRPF personnel and two civilians were injured in as many as three grenade attacks in Srinagar on Saturday, 2 June.

In the first attack, militants lobbed a grenade towards a security forces patrol in Fatehkadal area of Srinagar, in which three CRPF personnel and a woman were injured, the police told PTI. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital, where their condition is stated to be stable.

In the second attack, militants targeted a CRPF vehicle in Budshah Chowk area near the city centre, injuring a jawan and a civilian, the police told PTI.

The third grenade attack on CRPF troops took place in Magarmal Bagh area, they said. However, there were no injuries and no damage reported due to the explosion there.

There have been at least six grenade attacks in Kashmir Valley, including one at the residence of ruling PDP MLA Mushtaq Shah, since Friday.

The grenade attacks came on a day when clashes broke out between protesters and security forces in Srinagar after the death of a youth who was allegedly hit by a CRPF vehicle during another confrontation on Friday.
