Dehradun: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat graced the felicitation function “Parakram Parva”, organized on the occasion of 2nd Anniversary of Surgical Strike as the chief guest at a local farm house on Canal Road, Dehradun. On this occasion Chief Minister honoured the NCC Cadets and encouraged the young cadets.
Chief Minister said that two years ago on September 29, Indian Army carried out a surgical strike and killed 38 terrorist intruders. It was a big bold decision. The Prime Minister and the country have immense faith in the capacity, courage, valour, self-determination and bravery of our soldiers. We were also successful diplomatically. The Prime Minister gave a clear message to neighbouring country that talks and guns cannot go together. Chief Minister said that recently the data released by the Police Department of Jammu and Kashmir reveals that terror incidents in the state have witnessed a decline. Terrorists were also eliminated in Operation ‘All Out’ in year 2017. 150 militants were killed in 2018. We do not believe in expansion but we want to protect our country. Chief Minister congratulated the brave soldiers and extended his best wishes and also said that he salute their courage and heroism. He said that we are moving towards resolution of the Kashmir problem. He said that while the army is performing the duty of protecting the country, the common man should increase the morale of the army.
On this occasion, MLA Mr. Ganesh Joshi said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat, state government is fully committed to the welfare of the soldiers and their families. The provision of employment has been made by the state government for one family member of a martyred soldier. In order to solve the problems of the soldiers, one ADM level official has been appointed as the nodal officer in each district. Arrangements of one residential building each in Dehradun and Haldwani has been made for the students of the families of soldiers. One rank One Pension was implemented by the Central Government. We are continuously working for the welfare and betterment of our soldiers and their families.
