Selected candidates would participate in national, international level skill competition

Dehradun: The state level India Skill Uttarakhand-2018 competition was held in 11 different fields under Uttarakhand Kaushal Vikas Mission.  The first phase of competition was held in Rishikesh, Dehradun and Haldwani in Garhwal and Kumaon division between April 5 to April 7 and April 10 to April 12.  Three each selected candidates participated at state level competition held at Dehradun. The state level competition was started with welding skills on April 15 and was held at Government Industrial Training Institute (Men), Niranjanpur, Dehradun. The competition was judged by experts from skill council New Delhi. Anuj Kumar from Dehradun stood first, Gaurav Pal from Dehradun and Gurpreet Singh from Kashipur stood second and third, respectively.

Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary, Skill Development and Employment visited Industrial Training Institute and motivated the participants. He distributed cash prize of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 each, a medal and a certificate of appreciation to first, second and third prize winners, respectively. Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat would felicitate winners on April 20. The winners would participate in the zonal level north India competition and the winners would participate at national level competition, and later exhibit their skills in Qazan, Russia at international level competition in 2019.

Avnish Jain, Anil Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Manmohan Kuriyal, Chandrakanta, Shavez contributed in the successful organization of the event. The students from Industrial Training Institute Dehradun (men) Niranjanpur, Dehradun and Industrial Training Institute, Gujrada, Sahstradhara Road, Dehradun were also present. Under auto body repair, and car painting, state level skill competition was held at Divine Honda’s workshop, Dehradun on April 15.  Three each participants from Garhwal and Kumaon divisions participated in it. The participants exhibited their skills and completed the task assigned by judges. The enthusiastic participants were aware that they would participate in national and international event, if selected at state level.

 Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey, secretary, Skill Development and Employment organised two day training workshop for participants at Industrial Training Institute Haldwani with experts from Honda and Toyota companies. Dr Pankaj Kumar Pandey also visited Divine Honda workshop to motivate the participants.   He said an intense training would be imparted to participants once they are selected at state level so that they can perform well at the national and international level. Suraj from Dineshpur, Divansh Singh Bisht from Dehradun and Bhupinder from Haldwani stood first, second and third, respectively under auto body repair competition, while Imran from Haldwani, Ajay from Dehradun and Rahul Verma from Dehradun stood first, second and third respectively under car painting competition.

SP Sachan, Praveen Goswami, Chandrakanta, Shavez  were present in Divine Honda, Dehradun. The students from ITI (men) Niranjanpur, Dehradun, ITI Gujrada, Shstradhara Road Dehradun, Tulas Institute were present.
