Asian Games: Women’s Hockey in Semis, Dutee in Final

Wednesday, 29 August, may seem like a relaxed day at the Asian Games with far lesser number of disciplines in action than usual, but Day 11 will be a matter of huge significance for the Indian contingent, which will look to push the medal tally further to move up in the ranking table.

Wednesday will see two finals for the track and field contingents.

Dutee Chand, after topping the charts in her semi-finals, will look to grab one more medal as she competes in the women’s 200m finals at 5:20 pm IST.

Men’s triple jump final will also take place on Wednesday, with Arayan Veettil and Arpinder Singh competing for the podium finish.

The day starts pretty late for India on Wednesday with the first event being played at 10 am IST. In table tennis, the mixed doubles duo of Amalraj and Patkar will be taking on their Indonesian counterparts followed by the star pair of Manika Batra and Sharat Kamal who will take stage at 10:30 am IST.

If both the teams manage to qualify in the various rounds, the semi-finals will commence at 3:30 pm IST.

Indian women’s hockey team will play China in their semi-final clash at 6:30 pm IST.

In other events, the Indian boxers will fight their respective quarter-final matches at 12:15 pm IST.

The boxing quarter-finals will feature bouts in four different weight categories (men’s 49kg, men’s 64kg, men’s 75kg and women’s 51kg). The Quint
