New Delhi: In the run up to the AMCDRR, 2016, curtain raiser events are being organized and an event on “Natural Hazards and Risks” is being organized tomorrow at IIT Delhi.
The objective of the event “Natural Hazards and Risks” are managing disaster damage and loss data in India, application of disaster risk information for development decision making, involvement of community-organisations in local level risk assessment, status of multi-hazard disaster risk assessments in India.The event will include three technical sessions, discussing on issues like flood, climate change, earthquake, wind, multi-hazard, landslide, air pollution, water quality, etc.
AMCDRR 2016, scheduled to be held from November 3-5, 2016 at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi, will set the direction for implementation of Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (SFDRR) in the Asia-Pacific region. Sendai Framework is the first major agreement of the post-2015 development agenda and identifies targets and priority action areas towards reducing disaster risks.
An event on ‘Building Back Better’ was organized at School of Planning and Architecture on October 22, 2016.
