Centre Condones Odisha Govt’s delay of four and a half months in submission of yield data based on crop cutting experiments for paddy crop for Kharif 2015

New Delhi: The Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Radha Mohan Singh today informed that Central Government has condoned Odisha State Govt’s delay of four and a half months in submission of yield data based on Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) for Paddy Crop for Kharif 2015.

Shri Radha Mohan Singh informed that the matter was of the yield data based on Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) for Paddy Crop for Kharif 2015 which was submitted by the state Government to the Agriculture Insurance Company of India (AIC) only on 10th August, 2016 after the delay of around four and half months against cut-off date 31st March, 2016. The matter was referred by AIC to our Department. Certain classifications were sought from the Government of Odisha with regard to justification for condonation of delay in submission of yield data by State Govt. to AIC. Response of the State Govt. which has been received only on 24th October, 2016 has been examined and it has been decided to condone the delay in submission of yield data. Government of India share of claims shall be released once the State Govt. releases it share to AIC.

Shri Singh said that response of State Govt received on 24 October, 2016 and delay condoned by centre on 26 October, 2016, which is fastest in the history. The Minister reiterated that Centre is committed to welfare of farmers.
