Patna: With south west monsoon being active in Bihar, light to moderate rainfall today occurred at various places in the state.
The state capital too witnessed light to moderate rainfall which brought down the maximum temperature by few notches.
Light to moderate rainfall was also witnessed at few places of south west parts of the state while moderate to heavy rainfall occurred in most places of north west, north central and north east parts of the state, Met bulletin said.
As per the bulletin, Patna received 7 mm rainfall during the day (recorded between 8:30 am to 5:30 pm), followed by 1.2 mm in Purnea, 1.0 mm each in Gaya and Bhagalpur.
The cloudy weather all through the day coupled with light rainfall in the state capital brought the temperature down by few notches and made weather pleasant.
Among the major cities, Patna recorded the lowest maximum temperature of 28.2 degrees Celsius, Met office said.
Purnea recorded 30 degrees Celsius followed by 29.6 degrees Celsius in Bhagalpur and 29 degrees Celsius in Gaya, it said.
In its forecast, the MeT office said that Patna is likely to witness generally cloudy sky with moderate rain tomorrow while Gaya is expected to witness generally cloudy sky with few spells of rain or thundershower.
While Bhagalpur and Purnea may witness generally cloudy sky with possibility of heavy rain tomorrow.
