English News

Lucknow: The Sikh community is boiling over the false sympathy of Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Targeting the Congress leaders for using the Lakhimpur Kheri flare-up to gain political mileage, posters have been put up at various places along the route to the Lucknow airport ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to Lakhimpur Kheri.

Some of these posters were in reference to the 1984 Sikh genocide saying those who are responsible for the 1984 riot shouldn’t offer their fake sympathies now. The community has demanded Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi to go back.

UP government spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Siddharthnath Singh said that the massacre of the Sikh community took place in the Congress government. The Sikh community has not forgotten it yet.

The posters referring to the massacre, “ Nahi chahiye Farzi Sahanubhuti: 1984 ka sikho ke narsanhar ke zimmedar, aaj sikho ke zakhmo par namak na daalein” have been put up by the Sikh community in Lucknow and other cities. The community has given the message loud and clear that the congress party is showing false sympathy and they do not want it.

There is a lot of outrage in the Sikh community about Rahul Gandhi’s visit. In the hoardings, slogans like ‘Rahul Gandhi wapas jao, Priyanka gandhi wapas jao, Sikho ke Qatil wapas jao, Nahi chahiye saath tumhara’ shows their fury.

The names of many people of the Sikh community including Rajendra Singh Bagga, President, Gurdwara Guru Singh Sabha, Patel Nagar are also mentioned in the hoardings.

Speaking over the issue, UP government spokesperson Siddharth Nath Singh said that the opposition has a negative attitude on the sensitive issue. Not only this, this has also given a chance to people active on Twitter and social media. He said that the Yogi government is paying attention to every aspect of the incident. The Sikh community has not yet forgotten the atrocities committed against them, he added.
