New Delhi: An article in Times of India published on 7th July, 2019 has misinterpreted the information provided in respect of the houses approved under PMAY(Urban in Goa. The article has quoted Lok Sabha Question No.198 of 4th July, 2019 and has derived wrong conclusions. It is clarified that a total of 502 houses have been completed under PMAY(U) in Goa till 31st March 2019. A total of 654 houses have been approved under PMAY(U) in Goa by MoHUA till date and there is no discrepancy in the data reflecting on the website regarding progress of PMAY(U) in Goa.
Out of 654 houses approved by the Ministry so far, 594 houses are under CLSS and 60 under BLC vertical. The Government of Goa in Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) meeting held on 26.03.2018 mentioned that the total housing demand in Goa is 4,845 houses, out of which MoHUA has sanctioned 654 houses.
With around 84 lakh dwelling units already sanctioned, the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna – Urban being implemented by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is marching towards achieving the mission goal of “Housing for All”.
