Interior Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan meets Union Home Minister

New Delhi: The Interior Minister of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Mr. Salameh Hammad met the Union Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh here today.

During the meeting, Shri Rajnath Singh said that India attaches great importance to its ties with Jordan. He said that India and Jordan have similar views and perceptions on the regional and international issues. He also said that it is a matter of pride that, last year, India and Jordan commemorated the 65th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations. Shri Rajnath Singh said that the bilateral trade between India and Jordan has been impressive, but still there is a room for improvement.

Shri Rajnath Singh recalled the Joint Venture project namely ‘Jordan-India Fertilizer Co’ and expressed hope that more Joint Ventures should be there in future, to meet our demands of Phosphoric acid and rock phosphates. The two Ministers also discussed the issues related to threat of terrorism and agreed that this issue is of serious concern to all of us and mutual cooperation is required to tackle this issue.
