Yogi breaks Noida jinx, visits city to take stock of preparations for Modi’s meet

Uncategorized

Breaking the ‘Noida jinx’, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the city to take stock of the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed visit to inaugurate the Magenta line of Delhi Metro.

The Magenta line will be inaugurated jointly by Modi and Yogi on December 25. The new line will connect Noida’s Botanic Garden to Delhi’s Kalkaji.

Noida is considered ‘unlucky’ for UP CMs after successive CMs lost election after visiting the city. No CM had stepped into the city in last decade.

Yogi also met the homebuyers and the builders to resolve the ongoing row over delayed possession of flats.

“We have met both builders and buyers. Forty thousand flats will be delivered by the end to this month. We have told builders to deliver similar number of flats in next quarter also,” Yogi said in a press conference here at Amity University.

The homebuyers, however, remained dissatisfied with the CM’s response and claimed that no decision on builders who are absconding or applying for bankruptcy was taken.

“The flats CM is promising to deliver are those where construction is almost complete and occupancy certificates are being issued. Nothing has been done against those builders who haven’t even started the construction after taking money from homebuyers,” said Abhishek Kumar, president, Noida Extension Flat Owner’s Association (NEFOWA).

Accompanied by local MLAs Pankaj Singh, Thakur Dhirendra, Suresh Rana and Union minister Mahesh Sharma, Yogi also blamed the former governments over the issue of delayed possessions and said his government is doing everything for the homebuyers.

Over one lakh homebuyers are affected due to delayed possessions in satellite cities of Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad.

“We have already constituted a board of ministers to look into the issue. We are categorically trying to make way for delivery of flats to the buyers,” he said. (India Today)
