Dehradun: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra SinghRawat reviewed the “Namame Gange’ project at meeting held at secretariat. Under the ‘Namame Gange’, 32 projects are being run in 15 cities on the banks of Ganga river, while permission for Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) for Rispana and Bindal rivers of Dehradun were granted in the month of September. Under these projects, the work of STPs, up gradation of STPs, tapping of nullahs, bathing ghats and cremation ghats are going on. Out of these total 32 projects, 15 have been completed while work on16 projects have been going on. The tender process of one of the project is underway.
Chief Minister instructed the officials that quality should be maintained in the construction works and all the works should be completed in the stipulated time period.
He instructed the officials that since the work on River front Development has also been going on there should be coordination between these works so that there is no impediment in future. Chief Minister also reviewed in detail the sewerage infrastructure works under ‘Namame Gange’ being done by irrigation wapcos and forest departments.
It was informed in the meeting that the capacity of STP at Haridwar is 63 MLD while four projects, I&D projects of Jagjitpur and Sarai, Jagjitpur having capacity of 68 MLD, STP are being built on hybrid PPP mode. The work on 3.65 km sewer line at Arihant Vihar, New Vishnu Garden and Kankhal is going on. Some of the STPs are being upgraded. After the completion of these projects, the capacity of Haridwar city STP would be 127 MLD.
During the review of STP works and tapping of nullahs at Muni-ki Reti, Tapovan, Rishikesh, Devprayag, Uttarkashi, Gangotri, Kirtinagar, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Karanprayag, Nandprayag, Chamoli-Gopeshwar, Joshimath and Badrinath, Chief Minister instructed that all the work should be completed before December 2018. Wapcos hin four stretch has to do construction works at 12 bathing ghats and 11 cremation ghats, out of which work of bathing ghat and cremation ghat at Chandighat has been going on. The Chief Minister gave instructions to complete it by December. The works on all other ghats have been completed. The irrigation department has been working on construction of nine bathing ghats and 11 cremation ghats in four stretches. Out of total twenty ghats , work on one of the ghat has been completed while 70 per cent works on other ghats has been done. Chief Minister instructed the officials of the irrigation department to complete all works by December 2018.
The forest department has been doing the work of tree plantation and ‘Ganga Vatika’ under ‘Namame Gange’ project. Drinking Water Minister Prakash Pant, Secretary Drinking Water Arvind Singh Hyanki, Programme Director ‘Namame Gange’ Udairaj Singh, managing Director Peyjal Nigam Bhajan Singh, Project Manager Haridwar Wapcos Limited Amit Sharma and concerned officials were present in the meeting
