Pithoragarh: Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated the two day ‘Rang Mahotsav’ being organized by ‘Rang’ Sanstha at Dharchula. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat also laid foundation stone and inaugurated various developmental schemes worth Rs. 45 crore. The foundation stone of ten schemes worth Rs 4184.45 lakhs and inauguration of three schemes worth Rs. 285.74 lakhs was done by him. On this occasion, Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat also announced several developmental projects.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat announced that keeping in view problem of rations in the higher Himalayan region, two godowns will be constructed. He also announced construction of a protection wall to protect the Dharchula city from soil erosion by Kali river, Horticulture produce collection centres in three valleys, Jhula bridges at film Bon and Dugutu and establishment of a walnut nursery in Darma valley. The production of Fafar/Ugar in the area will be encouraged. The farmers will be trained for organic farming and cottage industry besides beautification of Gabladevi temple. A primary health centre will be established at Gunji, formation of self-help groups to promote cooperatives, development of Chipla Kedar area, master plan for Dharchula city and renaming of Dharchula stadium as Late Jawahar Singh Nabiyal, announced the Chief Minister.
Chief Minister Mr. Trivendra Singh Rawat said that Rang society has played a stellar role in the formation of separate state of Uttarakhand and senior officers belonging to the community has also contributed immensely in the development of the state. He said that it was his opinion that the separate state of Uttarakhand was formed for the development of far flung hilly areas and his government is working towards that end. He said that migration is a big problem in the state and Pauri Garhwal and Almora districts are worst affected districts due to migration. He said that the state government has formed a Migration Commission which is studying the problems of each and every village and after the survey development schemes for the villages are being made. He said that growth centres are being developed in each block through which the village produce will be able to get good prices so that the economic condition of villagers could improve giving them employment opportunities also. Chief Minister said that budgetary provisions are being made for establishment of growth centres. He said that a total of 143 products are made from pine trees. Apart from Lisa and Turpentine extraction, the leaves of pines are being used for fuel, providing employment especially to village women.
In his address, Chief Minister said that many decisions have been taken by the State Government to solve the problem of health services in the remote areas. All the 22.50 lakh families of the state are being covered with annual health insurance of Rs. 5 lakhs. All families will be linked to this insurance from December 25. He told the public that in order to further enhance the health facilities in the remote areas of the state, an ambulance service is being started from January 26. In addition, a total of 139, 108 vehicles are being purchased in the state, which are being sent in all development blocks.
Finance, Parliamentary Affairs and Drinking Water Minister Mr. Prakash Pant said that the work done to keep the culture of the region alive by Rang Sanstha for the last 30 years has been a commendable. This institution is constantly working to bring the society in a progressive direction by continuously striving to create well-developed society.
On this occasion, patron of the Sanstha and former Chief Secretary Uttarakhand NS Napalchyal gave detailed information about the work done by the Rang Sanstha in the social sector. He said that present government is working with zero tolerance to completely eradicate corruption, while adding that similarly Migration Commission has been constituted to prevent migration, which has given a hope of development in this border area. In his address, along with various demands, he also demanded Jolzibi to be made notified area as was in the past. In the programme, Chief Minister honoured Rang Sanstha local people, who have done excellent work in various fields.
Those who were honoured for doing commendable work include Yogendra Singh Gabrial, Sital Raj and Ratan Singh Sawal (mountaineering), Sanjay Gunjiyal (administrative service and mountaineering), Darchula Nepal MLA Galbo Bohra (social field), Mohan Singh and Ratan Singh Bonal (herbal production), Sanam Kutiyal of village Kuti, Jayanti Dariyal of Dantu (home stay); lyricist Prem Singh Sonal (cultural conservation) and Deepak Rokali (Agriculture). In addition to this, financial assistance was also given by the Sanstha to disaster affected people. Various colourful cultural programmes were also presented on this occasion. Are MLA Harish Dhami announced a grant of Rs. 15 lakh for beautification of Sanskritik manch Dharchula and Rs. 5 lakhs for the Gunji Beas Mela from the MLA fund.
