Bankers should make efforts to increase CD ratio of hill districts: Finance Minister Pant

Dehradun: Addressing the 67th state level Bankers Committee meeting in a local hotel on Subhash Road on Thursday, Finance Minister Mr. Prakash Pant said that special attention should be given by the bankers to increase the CD ratio of hill districts. For this, he instructed the Bankers to run maximum literacy campaign. He said that NABARD is providing assistance of Rs 2,000 per literacy camp and with this help, efforts should be made to organise maximum such campaigns and increase the CD Ratio.

Finance Minister directed to work under Financial Literacy Programme action plan in order to take the social security schemes to the public. He said that besides dealing with the problem of unemployment, it will also boost the state’s economy. He instructed that with expansion of local bodies, the new villages that have been connected with the government run National Urban Livelihood Mission Group (NULM) should get the benefit. He expected from the bankers to sanction crop loan, term loan to maximum beneficiaries to fulfill the Prime Minister’s target of doubling the income of the farmers by year 2022. He instructed to conduct various activities in the tourism sector and instructed to work according to the work plan and roadmap prepared and appealed the bankers for active contribution in effective implementing of the MoUs signed during the Investors Summit.

General Manager, State Bank of India, Ajit Singh Thakur, while thanking the officials present, assured the Finance Minister and Finance Secretary that according to the guidelines, banks and departmental officers will coordinate and increase the crop and term loan and CD ratio.

On this occasion, Chief General Manager of State Bank of India Alok Kumar Chaudhary, Finance Secretary Amit Singh Negi, Chief General Manager NABARD Avinash Chandra Srivastav, RBI Deputy General Manager (OIC) Tarika Singh, Deputy General Manager of State Bank of India BL Saini, Assistant General Manager RK Pant, Finance Controller Kulanand Ghanshala, additional secretaries of all the departments and Department Heads were present.
